third street wine cellar, kitchen & primary bath.
What began as an empty cellar in German Village quickly revealed an opportunity. Our clients, passionate wine enthusiasts, needed proper storage for their growing collection — one that moved bottles out of the dining room and into a space designed to celebrate and protect what they love.
kicking things off
Starting with a completely blank room gave us full creative freedom. Having worked with this client before, there was a shared trust that allowed us to lead the design process — shaping a space that balanced function, experience, and a sense of quiet indulgence.
out with the old, in with the new.
Maximizing storage was essential. Three-bottle-deep wine racks line the lower walls, while the back wall was designed to create a striking first impression. A dark, moody palette paired with layered ambient lighting sets the tone for a cozy space meant for lingering and tasting.
Raw welded steel, warm wood, and leather introduce a tactile richness throughout the cellar. These natural materials add contrast and drama, grounding the space while reinforcing the craftsmanship and character that make it feel both elevated and deeply personal.
seeking unity.
Although the wine cellar was not our first project for this client, it was important that its tone aligned seamlessly with the work we had already completed in the home. Below are final images of the kitchen and bathroom we previously designed, offering context and continuity to the overall vision.
